Hello New York!
Posted Thursday, June 10th, 2010Hi from over seas! There will be an album to listen to in the future, its being worked on as we speak. For now you can listen to the new Dr Who released last week and Alibi released late last year. If that's not enough to keep you going then tryout our myspace / youtube to catch up what we have been up to in the last couple of years, hope it tickles your taste buds. Tom

Exeter gig
Posted Thursday, November 19th, 2009Hi folks, Just to let you know that we're going to be driving up from Plymouth to catch you in Exeter tomorrow night, any idea what time you'll be on stage, as then I know how fast I'll need to drive! On another note, seen you guys many times over the years (Maker festival, Shambala, Ashton court and the Bell in Bath) but your Arcadia performance at Glastonbury this year really blew me away (just caught up in the magic I guess!) anyway really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, and can't wait for the debut LP. Best wishes, Dave.
- Dave

Punctuation
Posted Saturday, November 07th, 2009Thankyou Susanna, it was a lot of fun at the Brook. We recorded the gig and will hopefully have some new live tracks very soon. I'm a bit dubious about your comments on the punctuation though - are you Steve in disguise??
- Smerins

Holy f*ck, people!
Posted Friday, May 29th, 2009I´ve just realised that the night we´re playing at the Raglan festival, we´re up against none other than none other than Nicky Campbell (of ´Wheel of Fortune´ and ´Watchdog´ fame), who will be premiering his debut album at the venue down the road. It´ll be just like the time we played the bandstand at Glastonbury while Jay-Z was on the main stage.

Posted Wednesday, October 29th, 2008Hey guys, my name’s Laurie and I’m writing on behalf of Caudwell Children’s Charity. We work in providing specialist equipment and treatments to severely sick and disabled children in the local area. Were a national charity, but all of the money raised in Bristol would benefit the kids living there. The reason I’m getting in touch is to see if it would be possible to do a bucket collection at one of your gigs, I’ve always been a big fan and I think it’s great that a local group could possibly help local children. Looking foward to your response! Laurie.

18th october
Posted Friday, July 18th, 2008hi, i met the quietly lovely mr riches last weekend in bristol and enjoyed reading a book of questions at his kitchen table. i notice that you're all in london on the 17th october and i wondered if you'd like to stick around in town for the next night? it's my 30th and i'm planning a bit of an event. after listening to your music i'd really love you guys to be part of it. you're a bit skatalites/studio one with the cat empire and a pinch buena vista sprinkled on top. if you're vaguely interested and want to talk about it then drop me an email with a number and i'll get back to you

Saw you in Southampton and I got two suggestions for you. First, Nic should consider playing bass sax since he is so keen on playing low notes. It would be great for the band too. And how about that Netty? Whatever you do don't loose her. I almost fell in love with her...anyway...to the point...I would suggest you let her do some screaming solos, it sure looked as she has the chops and confidence to do it! Would be awesome!

Netty's mum and Joe...
Posted Thursday, August 09th, 2007Joe Well, crikey. I'm sure I speak for everyone here at Smerin HQ in saying... can we have some of what you were taking?! hehehe, but really Joe, thankyou so much for your kind words. I'm not sure how much of your euphoric life changing moment we can lay claim to, but if maybe we helped a little then it makes all the hard work worthwhile. George does this mean we can all retire now..?? See you at shambahlabalabalabalahh Netty's mum I understand your concern, believe me I do, but I think we could make some real money here..!! Gowan we'll cut you in on the deal, how does 60/40 sound? Pedro

You're my wife now...!!
Posted Wednesday, August 01st, 2007If you swabbed her tea mug would you eventually produce a ... Netea hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Maybe the Netea could be spilced with some small hamster like rodent to form a fearsome Neteayetti, a hooting, mugshaped, furry, buck-toothed, trumpet honking creature known to travel around at night, busking at terrified passers by until they toss coins into her concaved fluffy inards ... i'd defo marry one. Steve get swabbing.

Re: Pay for Netti?
Posted Tuesday, July 31st, 2007Ah, Neil. I notice you've substituted the 'y' for an 'i' since your last posting on this board. Are you still talking about the same Netty, or is there a Netti out there that we don't know about? Is she better than our Netty? I doubt it. Maybe it's a rare genetic mutation - an anomaly resulting from the less than scientific conditions under which I swabbed Netty's trumpet for those samples I sent you, causing this strange new variation. With further research, I am certain we will be able to harness this phenomenon, creating a whole wave of Netties with a variety of more and more complex spellings... Glad you liked the tunes.
- Steve
Pay for Netti?
Posted Tuesday, July 31st, 2007The links you sent were good, nice one! As for paying for Netti? I maybe interested in some DNA yes.... Does she know of the black market of DNA she is being pimped around on? Time for a cliche - Keep up the good work guys!
- Neil
Thankyou!
Posted Tuesday, July 31st, 2007Well that's high praise indeed ... I think?! Glad you enjoyed it Andy, we certainly did from our side of the stage, most excellent fun. nice1. Pedro ;)

Blazin Sunshine Set In The Mud @ SHEEP MUSC
Posted Friday, July 27th, 2007What an Amazing Set you did, blowing away everything in its path, though Oojami & Dreadzone where on form. So when is the DR. WHO getting released by you, it is already Legendary, or a Full Length CD maybe ? Hope your Van knows its way to North Wales, and gets here soon. Did you know, some of us have us have eaten a Lot of Pies, how about doing some XXL T-Shirts NJOI Roy

DOCTOR WHO!!!!!
Posted Monday, July 23rd, 2007The high light of Sheep music was one of, if not your final track, DOCTOR WHO!!!! I have never danced so hard in all my life, and bought the CD in the hope it would be on there. It wasn't, but the CD was still bloody good stuff! Energetic swing, i was really very impressed! As for Netty- Marry me! Haha, thanks for reading! PS I will be willing to pay good money for a copy of Doctor who...good money! !X!X!

r.e. that drum'n'bass track
Posted Monday, July 23rd, 2007Ha ha! Well I think I can speak for the rest of the band and say yes - it is a bit of a pisstake when we play it live, but when we release the studio version it will be badbwoy... I actually have a sample of this as my ringtone (Warning - geek alert!) and if you or anyone would like it then email me. Nice one!
- Smerin
that drum 'n' bass track...
Posted Monday, July 23rd, 2007i loved what you did with it, but was it a piss take? your reactions made it seem so and me not being a drum 'n' bass fan thought it was an utterly sublime mix. You were definitely one of the highlights along with the glitzy baghags and ska cubano. keep up the good work fellas.
- Chris Lawrence
Saw you at sheep, WOW!
Posted Monday, July 23rd, 2007An amazing set, very tight! never heard of you before, just got back from the fest and listening to you guys right now, i wish i got a CD, very gutted! i really want to hear that drum n bass track you did, it so amazing, it was the highlight of the festival! NICE ONE!

The gig was great fun - cheers for that - but to all the fantastic people we met in and around "The Social" which we were hosting all weekend, you were all so lovely. My fave festival ever I reckon. Cheers!!!!! And for those that bought our CD please let us know what you think. Our album proper will be very different, but we're all happy with it as something close to what we do live. Enjoy....

Jah Humphreys Dr Who Dub Explosion
Posted Sunday, June 10th, 2007I've taken a bit of a liberty & re-mixed your brilliant Dub version of Doctor Who. I wanted to see what it was like mixed with the original 1963 Delia Darbyshire version. Different keys, different tempo's & riffs in a different order, ment that it took me about 3 weeks to do on Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). Also threw in a quick sample from Mutagene's "Planet of the Evil Dub" & the "Scream" and "Spacenoise" from previous TV versions to highlight the beginning and end of the track. I think the overall result is pretty damn good, tho I say so myself as shouldn't! I'd love to send you an MP3 to see if you approve. Could you let me have an email address to send it too? All the best, Nik.
